About TAG Heuer
TAG Heuer was founded in 1985 when Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG) acquired the brand Heuer. Prior to its acquisition, Heuer, which was founded in 1860, had produced timepieces for cars, planes, boats, as well as wrists. The brand TAG had privately held companies involved in the automotive and aviation industry. The two were a natural fit for one another.
In 1911, Heuer created a watch designed to mount on the dash of automobiles to time car trips. Shortly thereafter, in 1914, Heuer converted pocket watches to wrist watches and produced some of the world’s first wrist chronographs. Heuer produced chronographs for everyone from the Luftwaffe to Formula One. Today, the TAG Heuer watch company continues the tradition of creating fine timepieces, spanning from racing chronographs to dive watches.
